Kingdom Moments

I first met Wendell Robinson in 2016 when he inquired about a job at the international relief and development organization I was then leading. At the time, Wendell was working for a similar organization in Atlanta, but sensed God leading him to relocate with his family to the Portland, Oregon area, his hometown, where my organization is based. I ended up offering Wendell the job, and for more than 3 years we were both coworkers and personal friends. As the years passed, I grew in my love and respect for Wendell. Not only was he a seasoned missionary and community-development practitioner, he was also a passionate follower of Jesus, with an infectious love for God and others. It was this relational aspect of Wendell’s faith that seemed to permeate everything he said and did. It is this unwavering focus on “relationship” that lies at the heart of Kingdom Moments. Again and again, readers are urged to prioritize, above all else, their personal relationships with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Repeated exhortations in the devotional include: Spend time in God’s presence! Learn to hear God’s voice! Do whatever the Spirit directs, without hesitating! And while I’ve been following Jesus for almost 50 years, I can honestly say that Kingdom Moments inspired me afresh to do all these things.
