David Wilson

David Wilson is an internationally known illustrator and creator of children’s books, illustrated sermons and faith-based educational support materials. He inherited his title, Mr. Sketches while doing a draw-along segment on a children’s TV show called Rise & Shine which aired on TBN for about three years. Since then he has enjoyed a lifetime career as an illustrator / cartoonist having created such projects as The Power Team comics, several books for Oral Roberts, workbooks and newsletters for John Avanzini’s Debt Free Army as well as caricatures for corporate companies. His faith-based book covers have circled the globe with authors from a multitude of ministries including “The Rhyme and Reason Series” by Catherine Zoller. David and his wife, Karen, a teacher who has taught in both private and public schools reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Started out as just a hunch

When I first started writing “The Parallel Paradox of Saul and Paul,” it started out as just a hunch and an experiment… a small blip on the revelation radar. I was intrigued by the name “Saul” meaning “tall” and “Paul” meaning “small” and that they were both from the tribe of Benjamin. I thought, “That can’t be a coincidence. I wonder if there’s more to discover?”

So that started a two-year expedition of which I journaled in real-time not knowing where it would lead or how it would end. I learned so much that I’d never heard taught before and now my hope and prayer is that others will be inspired to explore the vast riches of revelations in the Bible and discover that it is more relevant today than when it was written thousands of years ago.

I woke up this morning…

I woke up this morning remembering my first encounter and awareness of “Parallel Paradigms in Time” and “Parallel Paradoxes” in scripture in the early ‘70’s while finishing my college degree at the University of Oregon. My faith was being doubly attacked in a religion class taught by an atheist professor and a course teaching evolution.

The Holy Spirit and I got really close as I realized He is the greatest professor in the universe as He gave me home-work assignments starting in Genesis. I got bored with all the raw data in the genealogies and asked God why He included it. Immediately he spoke in my spirit and said, “David, get a pencil and paper and calculate the number of years from Adam to Abraham’s birth. If you’ll do that I’ve got a surprise for you.”

I got so excited and went right to work. When I came up with 1,948 years, He asked, “Does the year 1948 AD sound familiar?” Then it hit me! Wow! Abraham was the first Jew called out from the Gentile nations born 1,948 years from “the first Adam” and 1,948 years after “the last Adam (Jesus),” Jews were called out from the Gentile nations, and Israel was re-birthed. Isn’t God awesome?!!
